A little winter sun in Texas

By John / April 9th, 2013

At the end of February I had the pleasure of flying out to Houston in Texas to the cPanel offices. There I joined Matt who has been there for a few months already, and our newest staff; developers and support specialists.

This was a great opportunity to build on the "brain trust" established as part of our partnership with cPanel.

I spent time with Brian, my counterpart at cPanel, sharing knowledge about how our two companies interview, train, evaluate and manage staff working both remotely and in an office. Chris and I were invited to give an informal lunch time presentation as part of cPanel's 'Lunch & Learn' series. We provided a brief high-level overview of installing, configuring and using the WHMCS software to the marketing team and any others who cared to sit in during their lunch break.

If you've contacted us in the past few weeks you will have noticed some of the fruits of this labour already. Following the closure of a ticket we are sending emails asking for feedback and a score between 1-10, this may be familiar to those of you who have contacted cPanel support. All staff can see all ratings and comments, including those left for other members of staff. This is proving to be a hit already; staff are comparing and competing to achieve the best scores each month - ultimately providing a better quality of service to you.

The visit was a great success for international relations and I have taken a number of key points away which I'm looking forward to implementing here. And finally, there was a little time to experience some Texan hospitality.
