New Release Sneak Preview #1

So with (hopefully!) just a couple of weeks to go until the next beta release, we just couldn't keep what we've been working on to ourselves any longer! So here's a sneak preview of just 5 of the new features coming up in what should be a spectacular new release. We hope you agree..!

Product Bundles

Our new product bundles feature allows you to create groups of products, 2 or more, which are intended to be ordered together. Now the first benefit of this is that a single order link can add multiple items to the cart, which is very useful even on its own. But we've gone much further than that, allowing you not only to specify what is in the bundle, but also giving the option of requiring a specific billing cycle for products, or requiring specific addons for those products, and then we've also provided the option to automatically override the pricing of any products, addons and domains when ordered as part of the bundle so you can incentivise your clients. We think this tool will be really special.


Product Quantities

In V4.6, it will now also be possible to specify if a product should allow multiple quantities (which can be used for anything that doesn't require individual configuration per instance) and if enabled, the user is then able to specify a desired quantity on the view cart page and update to view the new total.



Automated Prorata to New Due Date

One feature that we're already finding very useful ourselves here in testing is the ability to prorata items to a new due date. Added as part of a broader mass product/service update in functionality, with this you can select a number of products/addons under a client, specify a new date you want future billing to occur on, and WHMCS will automatically generate a prorata invoice for the amount due between now and then, automatically updating the users due dates only if the invoice is paid.



Admin Add Funds & Mass Pay

As part of our continuing efforts to streamline and make as easy as possible performing tasks for staff, we have added new options to the admin client profile in V4.6 to allow admin users to both create Add Funds invoices for depositing an amount of money to the clients account, and the ability to generate mass pay invoices for a selection of invoices to allow capturing in a single charge. These also have the benefits of allowing staff to generate fund deposit invoices exceeding the limits you may have set for customers to do on their own via the client area.


Thumbnail Image Previews for Ticket Attachments

A new option in V4.6 allows you to enable image previews for attachments, which when enabled will then display a thumbnail sized preview of the image to allow you quickly identify & see what's in the attachment you're looking for without even needing to open it. Think this screenshot might give away which F1 team I support :)



So there you have it, just some of the new things we've got coming up in the next release. There's a lot more we could show you but we don't want to spoil the release day for you :)

We're working hard to have it ready as soon as possible, at which time we'll be following the usual pattern of releasing a beta version first, followed by a stable release a few weeks later.
